Enhance the Horse & Human Connection

Free Lungeing is an exhilerating way to communicate with your horse, designed to mimic the interaction between a "lead mare" and the horse members in her herd.  It is a special way to create a bond with your horse that is seldom experienced through traditional methods of training and horsemanship.  Here, I'm "sending" Emma off to flight, much like a lead mare would do when she is teaching her herd to be submissive to her.  I use my own body language to cue her to move her feet, change directions and continue on at a brisk cantor in a circle around me.  Eventually, I will change my body language to "invite" her into my space and she will come trotting eagerly in to greet me in the center of our circle.  Once we reach this point, she is happy to follow me wherever I go without the help of a halter or lead.  Free lungeing is a wonderful exercise for the horse and human alike.  Words cannot adequately describe how good it feels to have your horse latch on to you and walk willingly alongside like you are her best buddy!
